University of Waterloo Department of Psychology –Assistant Director, CMHRT (part time 21 hours/week)
The Centre for Mental Health Research and Treatment (CMHRT) is seeking an exceptional registered clinical psychologist for a newly created Assistant Director position in our CPA accredited clinical psychology doctoral training program at the University of Waterloo. Launched in 1972 as the “Psychology Clinic”, the CMHRT is among the oldest and most established psychology training clinics in Ontario and is a vital component of the clinical training program at the University of Waterloo. The CMHRT offers accessible, effective psychological services for adults, adolescents, children and families in the Region of Waterloo while also facilitating cutting-edge research on the development, persistence and treatment of mental health problems and providing comprehensive clinical training in our state-of-the-art facility. Clinical psychology graduate students receive the majority of their clinical training through the CMHRT.
As a part-time Assistant Director in the CMHRT, you will be a vital member of the Clinical Area of our Psychology department. You will assist the CMHRT Director in the administration of the CMHRT by taking a lead role in overseeing Intake and the teaching of diagnostic interview skills to clinical psychology graduate students. You will provide clinical supervision and training of clinical graduate students and residents in conducting comprehensive diagnostic and cognitive assessments, case formulation, and evidence-based therapy for children, adolescents and/or adults. While having competency for assessment/treatment across the developmental span is preferred, applicants with declared competencies for clinical work with any of the specific populations will be considered and are encouraged to apply.
